Re: the morning run, it was hot (70+ degrees at 5:30 AM), humid and windy. But that's the way it goes. After all, it is July in MN. After the 7 mile run and 1/2 mile cooldown, I kept going until I had in 10 miles. Then I stopped in Kwik Trip for an ice cold Diet Coke with lime. It tasted wonderful. Here we are before lift-off. Melby is still sleeping. I'd just spent a few minutes laying on the grass in a fetal position. I'm soooooo tired ... I think we all did a litle grousing. Maybe.

Back to last night. There was another big crowd at All Comers.
We really had a nice time on the patio at Twigs. It was a beautiful evening to sit outside. At some point in the evening, appearances were made by Tom O', Tom W, Paul, Jim, Roger, Marilee, Tim, me, Randy.
I had a turkey sandwich with apricot spread (on the side :-) and sweet potato fries (which I didn't finish :-). Very good sandwich.
Tom O'Leary had the Sonoron Hot Dog (a double, no less). He raved about it. And was still talking about it this morning.
Yowza. That's loaded!! I double-dog dare you to try one yourself!
Joey Keillor asked me to pass along this info:
Rochester area runners,
As part of a High School summer running program that I've organized in Rochester, we are planning to have a series of guest speakers who will give running-related talks to our group. You can download the attached PDF to see our schedule of guest speakers. The list of guests includes Mayo physicians and a nutritionist, Jason Lehmkuhle (recently 9th at Boston) and almost certainly Olympian Carrie Tollefson. I wanted to invite area runners to join us for these guest speaker opportunities.
Also, we will be meeting in one of two Rochester City Parks for each guest speaker session. We will embark on a run before or after the presentation, and we would welcome you to join us for the run, as well. Typically we run 4-6 miles.
We are charging $5 (adults) $3 (kids) a head as an admission fee for each session. We feel this is only fair as kids attending the Rochester Summer Running program pay a fee. Also, it will help contribute to gas money and speaking fees for some of our guests.
Also, kids who are not officially signed up for the Rochester All City Summer Running program must be accompanied by a coach or adult chaperone.
It would be great too see you. You can e-mail rochester.running@gmail with any questions.

Also, Olympian Carrie Tollefson has said she should be able to come for a visit sometime in late July or early August. I’ll let you know when we settle on an exact date. < My note: Carrie was again featured on the cover of this year's Minnesota Grown magazine. >
TC10: Today at midnight is the last day to register for the TC10 lottery. I'm running for my race team. It's a great race.
I guess it's National Ice Cream Day today. I don't believe I'll be partaking, though.
Time to get busy. Stay cool. It's hot out there ...
