I've Arrived

And I'm tired!! Flew thru Atlanta "on the way" to Boston. Sat next to a guy from Dallas, who was in Mpls on business. He said it was more like a vacation (his kids are 4,7 and 11). :-)

On the way from Atlanta to Boston, I sat next to Ryan from Atlanta. He's running his first Boston and fourth marathon. He qualified at Philadelphia and is hoping to run 3:03 to 3:05 on Monday. It's sure fun to talk to all these runners. This was an interesting flight ... a woman two rows up collapsed back by the lavatory about half an hour into the flight. They called for a nurse or physican and there were two on board. The first guy was a physician and spent a little time evaluating her. She got back to her seat but still wasn't doing well. The flight attendants were doing what they could, but they're not medical people. Then the other person who initially responded as well came back to her and pretty much spent the rest of the time with her. As coincidence would have it, her husband and daughter were sitting in the same row as the ill woman so she sent her daughter up to sit next to her son and she spent the rest of the flight monitoring the woman's vitals (there was a BP cuff on board). There was an ambulance to meet the plane so it took a while to deplane. I sure hope the lady will be ok. It must have been miserable for her. It's bad enough feeling bad when you're at home, or at a hospital. But on a plane ... that's a tough go. But I am now safely in my digs in Boston (Ramada) and it's good to be here. Waiting to see friends from all over the county tomorrow!!

On the shuttle to the hotel I talked with Terry from Wilmington. He's running his first Boston and second marathon!!

Sweet slumber awaits ... Good night.
