OBX, redux

OBX. Outer Banks. A blast and a half. What a wonderful road trip with dozens of friends. Thank you to all the River Runners who made all the arrangements for us. You guys rock!!

Our flights from MSP brought us first to Cleveland, OH.

Seventeen of us travelled together going out. (We took up all but I believe two of the occupied seats on the plane during out final flight!)

Our destination airport was Norfolk, VA. We had a layover in Cleveland, providing the chance to stretch our (tapering!) legs and grab a bite to eat.

And of course ... chat.

Then it was off to pick up our 3 rental minivans for the 90-mile drive to OBX. And the first look at our digs for the long weekend. Wow. Yowza. These rental units were AMAZING. (I'm also using some of the photos taken by Leah, Deb and maybe Kathy. Give credit where credit is due!)

The spaces were massive. 12 bedrooms. 15 bedrooms. 18 TVs. We would certainly be living comfortably during our stay here.

But we needed a few essentials that very first evening (TP, soap, food!) so it was off to Harris Teeter at about 10:00 PM, about a 10-mile drive. When we got there Donnie said we had 10 minutes to shop. So we hit the store running! Literally. I felt like we were in one of those contests where you have just minutes to grab stuff from the shelves and fill your carts. :-)

End of OBX day one. A good day. To be continued ...

Sun-drenched day time! We can't stand the actual warm day time, however after i study your own post, I'm slipping deeply in love with summer time.
