The folks at Ragnar Relay sent the above in the mail. At first I thought it was junk mail (there's something on the back as well) and just about tossed it. Kind of neat!
Are you interested in an `EVE`ning of Happy Beer & Running? Off-Season Striders will have an early beer run this Wednesday, New Year's Eve, at 4pm at Beetles on 2nd St. SW. We'll probably do 4-6 miles to start with (hills are our friends), then eat, drink and be merry!
From Larry Pederson: Our own Steve DeBoer, who is #5 on the listing of those with the longest running streaks, was mentioned on ABC News. Here's the link.

Here's a recipe my friend Emelda just sent me. I haven't tried it yet, but she says it's very good. I like the combination of chocolate and dried cherries.
Here's a recipe my friend Emelda just sent me. I haven't tried it yet, but she says it's very good. I like the combination of chocolate and dried cherries.
Chocolate Cherry Crinkles
Cream: ½ C. butter (she said she likes the texture better when using shortening instead)
1 2/3 C. sugar
Add: 2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 squares melted chocolate
Stir in: 2 1/4 C. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1/3 C. milk
½ C. nuts
1+ C. dried cherries, chopped
Refrigerate 2-3 hours. Then shape into balls and roll in powdered sugar. Place on greased pan or parchment paper. Bake at 350, 15+ minutes. You want them soft. I baked mine about 17 minutes and then let them cool on the cookie sheet to firm up. Makes about 4 dozen
