I did it! I finally did it! I nailed the Progressive Run this morning in Byron. Cool temps, but a bit breezy and quite humid. But soooo much better than what we'd experienced the last several weeks. I didn't have high hopes for this run today as I was dog tired ... 4 1/2 hours sleep and legs that yesterday rode 37 fast miles on the bike (more about that in the next post), ran 4 miles, lifted and swam for an hour. But I was going to give it a shot and hope for the best. Here's the morning run by the numbers:
12.25--Miles ran
1800--Calories burned, according to my GPS
5:45--Best pace (ran during the last .10 miles I'm sure of it ...)
6:31--Lap pace at .90 miles during the last mile
83 or 84--What my mileage will be for the week
1--Number of Creme-Filled Long Johns, Straight-up, No Sprinkles, No Nuts that I promised myself during the last 6:30 target mile if I met or exceeded 6:30 pace
6:28--Pace for the last mile ... hip, hip, hooray!
9:59, 8:59, 8:28, 8:00, 7:29, 6:59, 6:28--Splits for the morning (targets are 10, 9, 8:30, 8, 7:30, 7, 6:30)
A great morning! Enjoy today ... it'll be gone tomorrow.
