9-1

After today's whooping of Seattle, our esteemed Vikings are now 9 and 1. Gotta love that Brett Favre. :-) At 40, he can sure still play like the best of 'em. 4 TDs. No picks. 88% on passing. 3 TDs in under 9 minutes. It was ALL MINNESOTA!!

My workout today, other than cheering for the Vikings, was to run to the Y, swim for an hour, and run home. Oh ... and I walked home from church (2.85 miles) What a beautiful day. We're so spoiled ... when the weather returns to normal (sounds like that could be this week) we'll be grumbling about it, I'm sure.

Went to Matt's Winona Oratorio concert this afternoon.

It's the first time I've seen him sing in a choir since 5th grade. But he's really enjoying it. He's got a really low singing voice (Bass II). The concert was  called "A Concert To Saint Cecilia". The first half was "Sain Cecilia Mass". Whether you're protestant or Catholic, these should sound famliar: Kyrie, Gloria in Excelsis, Credo (creed), Sanctus, Benedictus (benediction), Agnus Dei. It was excellent. Second half: "Lament" with a cello solo and "Fantasic" by Beethoven with a piano solo. The pianist was really, really good. It was fun to watch his hands. His fingers were SO nimble.

(Sorry about the picture quality)

After the concert we went to Jefferson's Pub & Grill for supper. I had a BBQ pork sandwich (all the chicken sandwiches had cheese and/or mayo and/or bacon) and a side salad. It was good. December 5 is the Messiah Sing-In with guest conductor Weston Noble (professor emeritus at Luther). I sang in the Messiah all 4 years at Luther and am really looking forward to participating in this.

Count your blessings!!

Good night.
