Reminder: Tomorrow, Tuesday 10/13 is the first monthly social get-together at Beetles on 2nd St SW. 6:00 pm. Runners/walkers/triathletes/anyone with life and breath ... you're all welcome to join us!! There is no athletic activity scheduled along with the socializing. Just come for the fun and friends, both old and new. This will be held monthly, 2nd Tuesday, at Beetles. Come and be blogged!! Ha!!
Tomorrow is also the KLM 1-mile for youth runners. This is part of the RTC Youth Grand Prix series and is free. Can't beat that! It's at Century H.S. following their cross country meet. More info on the RTC website.
My Cooking Light group met for our monthly meal together this evening at Kathryn's home. It was a wonderful menu. She did a great job of chosing it. She sets such a beautiful table. Everything was delicious. Equally delicious. I don't think I have a favorite, and everything was worthy of being made again.
One bloggable quote from this evening ... we were deciding on next month's menu and I'd volunteered to bring the warm Brussels sprouts salad. One of the remaining items to be assigned was Honey Buttermilk Rolls. Well, no one seemed to be overly eager to make them so I piped up, "I'll make them! I'm not afraid of yeast! " Guess you had to be there ... it was kinda funny. :-)
Here are some photos from Jim Mason from beautiful Chester Woods park. The colors are hitting their peak out there. He and Casey Graham ran out there the other day.
I received the following by email. I haven't checked it out but hope that it's legit: Hello. We could use your Running Groups Help. For every 100 Miles logged as a group at www.RunAroundTheEarth.com we will donate One Square towards a Childrens Blanket. We currently have over 232,000 miles logged (that's over 2,320 squares). This doesn't cost anything. You log your miles for Free. All we ask is that you pass the information onto your Running Group. Imagine how many miles your group could log each and everyday.....? Your efforts will help..
Time to hit the hay. Until tomorrow ...
