Judy Weller became a grandma for the 7th time this evening. :-) A little boy, born in GA. Congratulations!!
My little runner's bio has been posted on the SCRR bio page. They're listed alphabetically.
From Jean Murray: RTC is looking for a few more volunteers to help staff our RAFY MedCity aid station this coming Sunday. Please consider joining us! Our station is located on the bike trail just across Broadway from Snappy Stop. Runners will be passing through our station twice between 8:30am and 11am. Thanks to enthusiastic support from Julie Murray and Bill Nevela, our station will host music, and good humor with a ... swashbuckler pirate theme!! Please email Jean if you think you can help us out. The pirate attire is entirely optional. If anyone is willing to loan us a super-soaker that would be great too! Thank you in advance for considering spending your Sunday morning to help RTC support RAFY!!
Sonja Kranz was the Wildtree consultant at my little tasting party this evening. She did a great job and we had fun tasting the products. Everything was super easy to prepare and delicious.
And we got to see Cole Lappi, 3 months old. Holding Cole is Stephanie Bagniewski and mom Lana is on the right.
My "hip thing"/piriformis/whatever is feeling fine, so I'm going to run in the morning and see how it goes. I'll let'cha know ...
The TWINS lost AGAIN this evening. 5 in a row. Let's get out of this losing slump, guys.
Well, when I run out of things to post, I can always post a recipe. :-) Here's Kathryn's recipe for Iced Cinnamon Chip Cookies, which I very much enjoyed at her Vernal Equinox Party (a.k.a. cookie-eating extravaganza) earlier this spring. They're delicious.
Iced Cinnamon Chip Cookies
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 package (10 oz.) cinnamon baking chips
Icing:
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup shortening
1 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 Tbsp. milk
3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
2. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Fold in cinnamon chips.
3. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool.
4. In a small mixing bowl, combine icing ingredients; beat on high speed for 1-2 minutes or until fluffy. Spread over coookies.
Yield: about 3 1/2 dozen.
Toodles!
