Lots of new clothing has arrived at Running Room Rochester! A great selection of hats, headbands, mittens, gloves, crew socks, traction devices ... are available for your winter running needs as well. And don't forget your 20% off coupon in the eMagazine. The coupon is good all month. As always, you can bring your old running shoes, still wearable ones with laces tied together, to the drop-off bin. The shoes go to Haiti.

Off-Season Striders will be running from Panera South at 7:30 on Saturday. Here's a map. Please join us! Rumor has it I'll be bringing birthday cookies!

Here's an article from Mike Schmitt about 'interactions' between runners and drivers. Thanks for the link, Mike.

Here's a link to the Bear Creek 5 write-up in the Post-Bulletin. Thanks to Chris O'Brien for the link.

Spent the day in the ER yesterday after I got bad ab pains again while working out at the Y. AGAIN. After lots of tests and scans, the net is that I have a couple loops of distended bowel (and the doc said very active bowel sounds) and nothing more serious than that, which is good news. It's also good to find out what you don't have. Just have to figure out how to manage/prevent the associated pain ...

Looks like winter out there today. I do love the snow ... at least until about February. Then it can all melt away ... FOR GOOD!

Thought for the day: "Thankfulness is the soil in which joy thrives."
