Deep Freeze

Brrrrrr! It's cold out there again, with a nasty wind chill. How quickly the warm temps of the weekend spoiled us. Teasing us with thoughts of springtime ...

The RRCA national awards have been announced. We had a late breaking award to judge over the last couple of days (Journalistic Excellence). Amby Burfoot was voted the winner. (I was a journalism judge. Fun, but time-consuming process.) All the awards are listed in the link above. Congratulations to all the winners!

Pete Martin has also agreed to donate a one hour plane flight for the Trifecta weekend prize pool. You rock, Pete! Thank you so much. The odds of winning one of the fabulous prizes increases with each prize donation ... consider participating!

Happy February Birthday to the following RTC members: Jeff Anderson, Tom Byrne, Jennifer Daniels, John Dinusson, Mary Jo Habermann, Larry Kleppe, Angie Macken, Justin Murray, Dave Nagorney, Dave Phillips, Fred Regennitter, Todd Robertson, Richard Schindler, Katie Schneider, Jackie Thompson, Mark Wernstrom, Tom Woo (milestone!), Dave Zimmerman. Happy Birthday one and all!

Sharon Mulvagh sent me the following photo from ... HAWAII!!! I'm so jealous.

I'm in dire need of articles for the March issue of RTC News!! I'm hoping to get one from Chris Koch on the Tecumseh Trail marathon last fall. That's it. It's going to be a skinny issue ... please consider sending an article! Thanks much.

Larry Pederson filmed a Broadway Residence & Suites Stair Climb video clip for the RahRahRochester "must do" website today. Look for it to be posted soon.

Well, the RSVPs are starting to roll in for the "Social Event of the (Off-) Season" (ha!) on Saturday, 2/7. The weekend run will begin at my house (2026 Kal Lane SW) on Saturday at 7:30 AM (but feel to start earlier if you so desire) followed by brunch here afterwards. Please come! Run if you choose, but it's not a requirement. Please do RSVP so that I have enough food ... and so that I don't make so much that I'm eating brunch food 3x per day for the next week ...

Took my brother's family to the Y water park on Friday. They had a grand ol' time. :o)

Well, that's it for today. Stay warm.
