Pondering Predicted Paces

At the suggestion of a reader I met at the Spirit Run today, I've added the McMillan Running Calculator link to my list of links at the bottom of the sidebar to the right. Very interesting and useful information. Based on a recent run or race, you can get predicted paces (adjusted for the increased or decreased distance) for many, many other distances as well as suggested training paces for both speed and distance. Based on today's rather pedestrian 10K, I should be able to run a 3:41 marathon. Ha. Won't happen. But one can certainly dream ...

One more little note. Sarah Torchia stopped and talked to me today at the 10K. (They are the nicest kids. How many high school juniors are going to stop and talk, for several minutes, and she initiated the conversation, to an adult??) Anyway, she has FOUR, yes 4, stress fractures. One on the right, 3 on the left. All in the ankle/lower leg. Poor thing. But she was there today in her "boot" to cheer on younger brother Ian in the 5K. ;-)
