Terrific Tuesday

Wow. We've now bid adieu to June. Seems like summer flies after the fourth of July. Guess we better enjoy it while it lasts! This evening is evening number 5 (of 6) for All Comers' at Soldiers' Field. We really need volunteers. Please stop by and help out if you are able.

Thank you to Tom Woo for the photos in my last post. I think Tom could have a second career as a sports photographer. Kelly Lyndgaard and Judy Weller report that they had a great time at the triathlon on Sunday and are pleased with their efforts, as well they should be!

Matt Schrader reports that he defended his Star of the North 5000m title in 20:44 up at Hamline University and earning silver medals in the long jump and shot put.

Steve DeBoer reports that he's run a minimum of 3000 miles every year since 1975. Wow. That's almost 60 miles/week on AVERAGE.

Mick King (Stress Solutions) is offering a Fridays in July special: a one hour massage for $25 + tax. The location is in The Stone Barn, just East of Apache Mall on 16th street. (upstairs) Call or email to schedule. Does not include gift certificate sales, splitting of the hour or super deep tissue work.

There's still time to sign up for Running Room's 20-minute challenge on July 16th at 6:00 pm. No fee, no time kept and you get a free (very nice) hat! Can't beat that! Encourage your friends to get out and get active and see what Running Room is all about.

Nice article in the P-B last night about the Stewartville Summerfest Runs (3- and 5-mile). It's just a great family-friendly atmosphere down there. There's a free 1/2 mile event for kids. LOTS of door prizes. Lots of watermelon. I've been known to bring cookies. And every finisher gets an American flag. I've got quite a collection of them now.

Got my strawberry jam made this afternoon. Don't have time to post any photos today. Tomorrow!!

Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. See you at All Comers'.

Did you use a variation of the latest Cooking Light Cherry Berry Jam? Granted strawberries are not the lead ingredient - however they would be easy to feature.

No, my usual low-sugar Sure-Jell recipe. Straight strawberry. It's wonderful.
