Oh, we needed that rain!

I'm so thankful for the rain that we received today. Everything was getting so thirsty. Could put a damper on the TNT (Thursday Night Triathlon) this evening, but there will be another Thursday. I'm scheduled to guard bikes this evening. And I'll take photos of course. And remember, you can turn this into TND (Thursday Night Duathlon) if you like and run-bike-run instead of swim-bike-run if you like and get into shape for TreadMan!

Very nice turnout for the 20-minute challenge last night, despite the rather oppressive heat and humidity. Lots of green hats and 20% off coupons were give out! (Click on the photo collage for a larger version of the photos.) Also new at Running Room, fruit smoothie flavors of Power Bar.

I bought some Extreme sport beans and Blueberry Pomegranate Gu Roctane to try. Cherry is one of my favorite flavors. The new beans have 50 mg caffeine.

New marathon event in Western Wisconsin. Marathon and 1/2 Marathon event feature 3/4 mile railroad tunnel. Bring your flashlights!! If you can't go to New York, go to Norwalk!!Rails to Trails Race Questions? cen90368@centurytel.net

Next on my race schedule: Rochester Women's Race (4 miles) on Saturday morning at 8:30. Haven't decided if I'll race it (and be disappointed with my time) or mix it up in the middle of a long run (and be disappointed with my time). ;-) But come on down to Silver Lake, gals!! It's really a fun event. Door prizes. Hand made awards. Tank tops.

John Resman gave me Roger Spee's collection of RTC News dating all the way back to the late 1970s. It's really fun reading. There are lots of people that have been significant contributors to this club for many, many years. And the same issues we deal with now were dealt with back then. What goes around, comes around as they say!

Ramblin' Renee. Signing off.
